I have got a second hand ibm x31 laptop with a brand new hard drive. I brought a recovery cd-rom disc (which is a set 3) and the web site said just put in disc 1 and boot up the computer with the bios set to cd first. I did this but I keep get the same error which is cannot find cd-rom and stops with A:> which I know that it must have started with the cd drive as I have not got a floppy drive fitted. When I contant the web site about it. I did not get any reply from them. If I boot the cd-rom in my desktop computer it sees the cd-drive but as it is not a ibm computer It stops say that. I hope you can help me. I have just downloded a ibm-boot-cd in the case I can get it to work.
